Real Talk Theatre Company founder and Artistic Director Emma Burdett has over 10 years experience working in schools and theatres delivering workshops and performances to children and adults. Emma trained as an actor at Rose Bruford and has performed in theatres all over the world. Emma was then a casting director for an Italian theatre company before creating Real Talk Theatre. During lockdown Emma studied for a masters degree in Psychology. When Emma isn’t performing or delivering workshops she is away in her VW campervan or planning her next adventure!
Real Talk Theatre has been touring primary and secondary schools all over the UK since 2017 performing our interactive shows that challenge the audience to explore their views and voice their opinions. The audience are encouraged to get involved and advise the characters on how to overcome the various challenges that they are faced with during the performances.
Our workshops cover various themes including mental health and self-esteem, internet safety and cyber bullying, exam stress, abuse and homophobia. The interactive workshops encourage students to challenge their views and get into open discussions and debates.
In addition to this, we also offer bespoke workshops to schools, sixth-form colleges and universities. We want the audience to get the most out of the workshops and so if there is a subject you would like us to include or to be discussed in a certain way then please let us know and we will do our best to design a workshop, assembly or presentation to meet your needs. Please look in the workshop section on the website or email us for more information and a detailed breakdown of all the workshops we offer.
